You have the skills, you have the education, you have the work experience. In short, you are amazing and you want to live and work as a permanent resident in Canada. A Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) is probably for you!

Provinces and territories in Canada have their own immigration programs that look for potential immigrants. These PNPs look for workers, students, or business professionals interested in living in the province or territory. The PNP requirements change depending on what the province or territory believe they need. So, sometimes the PNP might invite more Bakers or Food Service Supervisors, whereas other times they might be looking for more Project Managers or Web Developers.

There a few different ways to apply for a PNP. One of the most common ways is through an Express Entry pool of other potential immigrants looking to be invited by the province or territory. The people in the pool are ranked using a point system called the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). The CRS scores abilities, skills, education, work experience, language ability, and more. Draws are held (usually every 2 weeks, but this isn’t set in stone) and those people that meet the requirements and are above the cut-off CRS score are sent an invitation to apply for permanent residency.

Oh, and the basic requirements in order to apply through a PNP can be different for each province or territory. Don’t worry, Wellspring Immigration can help you through this process.
